As a Filipino, Catholic and Dominican School, we participate in the process of social transformation by committing ourselves to contribute to the preservation and enrichment of our cultural heritage, traditions, and values amidst the emerging global society, to nurture our Christ-like attitude and devotion to the Mother of God as we promote peace, work for justice, offer reconciliation and preserve God’s creation and to bring the TRUTH wherever we may be, profess to live the Dominican spirit of STUDY, and SHARE with others the fruits of our labor. HISTORICAL GLIMPSE

As the suburban area of Balibago, City of Santa Rosa, Laguna, slowly become more populated, the need for a Catholic School to cater to the young had arisen. The Dominican Fathers of the Holy Rosary Province, who has collaborated with the San Lorenzo Development Corporation (SLDC) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines-Retirement and Separation Benefit System (AFP-RSBS) to provide housing opportunities to the less-privileged, thought of inviting the Sisters of the Congregation of the Religious Missionaries of St. Dominic to share the mission of evangelization. The Sisters moved by their zeal for evangelization accepted the challenge. On September 1993, Rev. Fr. Bonifacio Solis, OP, Vicar of the Holy Rosary Province, in the presence of the Sisters, laid the cornerstone in a five-hectare land. This marks the post where a Catholic School Dominican College of Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Inc. would rise.

At first, the Sisters wanted it to be a Catholic School exclusively for girls but the Dominican Fathers suggested that it would be of greater advantage to include boys in the mission of evangelization.

The new school, Dominican College of Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Inc. established in 1994 had made its name in the vicinity of San Lorenzo South where it started to educate pre-school to Grade 6 pupils. In 1995, the school was opened to high school students. College courses were also offered in the same year namely: BS Psychology, AB Mass Communication, BS Hotel and Restaurant Management, Associate in Hotel and Restaurant Management, BS Commerce major in Management, BS Education major in English, Math, Filipino, Social Studies, Computer Education and Physical Education.

The Pre-school and Elementary received its Government Recognition in 1995. The High School, on the other hand, received its Government Recognition in 1997. In 1998, DCSR offered computer courses namely: BS Information Management, BS Computer Science, BS Information Technology, Associate in Computer Technology and Bachelor of Science majors in Computer Management, Marketing Management, Accounting Management and Entrepreneurship. Some of the courses received the Government Recognition in the same year such as BS Commerce and BS Education. BS Psychology, AB Mass Communication and BS HRM received their Government Recognition in 1999. Associate in HRM on the other hand, received its Government Recognition in 1996 since it is only a 2-year course. In the year 2000, Associate in Computer Technology, BS Information Management, BS Computer Science and BS information Technology received their Government Recognition.

Science-enriched curriculum was introduced in the Basic Education Department in 2000. In the new curriculum, Science and Technology was given focus. Advance subjects were catered to all year levels.

The College Department ventured into the field of Science by offering Professional Caregiver Program in 2002 and BS Nursing in 2003. These courses received Government Recognition in 2004 and 2007 respectively.

In 2012, Dominican College of Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Inc. Basic Education Department adapted the Department of Education’s K-12 Curriculum. The school has added enrichment subjects in Science, Math and English subjects; thus calling DCSR’s Basic Education’s curriculum as K-12 enriched.

In March 2013, the school was granted a Certification Status as ESC-participating school by the Fund Assistance for Private School (FAPE).

In November 2014, DCSR initiated a great leap towards accreditation. It was a tedious preparation and process of analysis and evaluation of the school’s curriculum, student services, facilities, faculty and staff development. Fortunately, the school successfully met the standards and requirements for Candidate.

Status of the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools Colleges and Universities (PAASCU), thus making the school eligible for the Preliminary Visit.

In January 2016, PAASCU team made its Preliminary visit in the Basic Education Department and successfully marked DCSR’s history when the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines granted Candidate Status for a PAASCU Formal Visit two years after. Eventually, the Basic Education Program reached the standards once again and fulfilled all requirements in accordance with memorandum order number 32, series of 2006 of Department of Education.

PAASCU made its Formal Visit in DCSR on January 11 and 12, 2018, after intensive and collaborative efforts by the entire DCSR community. On May 30, 2018, PAASCU awarded DCSR Certificate of Accreditation to the Basic Education Program for meeting the standards and fulfilling the requirements of the Association and the certification was valid until May 2021.

On June 28, 2018, the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) granted Level 1 Accredited Status to the Basic Education Program of Dominican College of Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Inc., Laguna for having satisfactorily met the standards and fulfilled the requirements of the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU).

On October 24-25, 2022, the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) had its Resurvey in the Basic Education Department and successfully Dominican College of Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Inc., Laguna, Inc. had met the standards and complied the requirements of the PAASCU. For this reason, the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) granted the school Level II Re- Accredited Status last May 18, 2023 for which the certification is valid until 2028.,

In response to the demands and challenges of the times, Dominican College of Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Inc. continuously widens its horizon through relevant innovative, integrative quality education to produce graduates who are globally competitive and locally responsive. The spirit of academic excellence and leadership supported by facilities and amenities provided an ideal environment for disciplined study, fruitful interaction and prayerful reflection.

The vision and mission simplified and concretized in the Dominican Core value” VERITAS,” which stands for V-aliant, E-fficient, R-espectful, I-nnovative, T-ruthful, Adaptable and S-erviceable giving emphasis on responsible stewardship for mother earth,

serves as guide not only for the students but also for the stakeholders— parents and alumni to internalize and to live up with the reputation of a true Dominican.

Dominican College of Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Inc. unceasingly provides quality education nurtured with religious experiences. And now with its fully spread wings joins educational institutions to assist in providing the nation’s citizenry a holistic development scheme with religion as its core. It foresees graduates who are Christ-centered, lovers of the Virgin Mary, defenders of truth and responsive citizens.
